Christmas comes one day early for RC Celta: Galicia is sky-blue! (1-3)

RC Celta

Celta did it again. And so did Iago Aspas. For the third straight time the Vigo team won and the striker from Moaña scored, not one, but two goals in the Galician derby. Daniel Wass opened the scoreboard in the third minute of play after yet another assist from Sisto this season. A Danish connection that came from a cross on left to the heart of Deportivo’s penalty area, where Wass zoomed in for the header that hit the back of the net.

Before halftime Celta increased its advantage. Maxi Gómez hustled for the ball beating Sidnei and gave Aspas the assist to score without any opposition. The Celta striker performed outstandingly, on both ends of the pitch, and topped off his great match with the third goal for Celta. It came from a stunning direct free-kick in the second half.

Deportivo pushed at times and even scored with thirty minutes left in the match on a strike from Andone. With a good lead on the scoreboard, Celta was able to hold the win until the final whistle. Without a doubt, it’s a great Christmas day gift that comes one day early for all the Celta family. Celta keeps ruling in Galicia!
