RC Celta and RCD Espanyol drew this Wednesday (1-1) a match in which the sky-blue had the best scoring opportunities. The goal of Fran Escribá’s team came after a great play by Iago Aspas that Maxi Gómez finished off.
The first half was defined by the evenness between both teams. Hugo Mallo and Maxi Gómez had the best chances of the sky-blue team and Borja Iglesias and Wu Lei those in the Catalan team. It was precisely the Chinese player who put the home team ahead after half an hour.
In the first minutes of the second half Iago Aspas and Hermoso both hit the post. The match was levelled by RC Celta with a sensational play between Iago Aspas and Maxi Gomez that the Uruguayan sent to the back of the net. After the draw, Fran Escribá’s men had numerous chances that they were unable to transform into goals in the final stretch.
