RC Celta was defeated in a frenzied match against Rayo Vallecano (4-2). Miguel Cardoso’s team managed to get ahead on the scoreboard midway through the first half, but a hat-trick by De Tomás and another goal by Bebe turned the game in favor of the Madrid team.
The clash began with an early goal from Rayo Vallecano three minutes into the game. RC Celta started playing well and had the courage to turn it around in just five minutes with goals from Néstor Araujo, who scored with the sky-blue jersey for the first time, and Maxi Gómez. The rest of the first half was a succession of arrivals from both teams that ended with a draw of the Madrid team after half an hour of play.
The second half followed the same dynamic and both teams looked for the goal from the start. Ruben Blanco made several great saves in the early stages, while the sky-blue strikers also had several dangerous runs they could not transform. In the final stretch, two goals from the Vallecanos decided the match in their favor.
