RC Celta 2019/20 was introduced to Celta fans in the run-up to the XXIV Memorial Quinocho, which this year had SS Lazio as its guest rival. Before the start of the match, the entire squad and the coaching staff paraded on the pitch of Abanca Balaídos. “We’re going to defend this shield as it deserves,” said captain Hugo Mallo.

In addition to the sky-blue player, the coach and the president also addressed all the attendees: “Thanks for last year’s support, it was essential. We ask you not to lose that union. Together we are better and stronger,” said Fran Escribá before giving Carlos Mouriño the word. The Celta leader highlighted the happiness of the club for “bringing home key players who were away,” such as Denis Suarez and Santi Mina, and said that is being built “a powerful core, strengthened by players from last season and new additions.

At halftime, the academy divisions of RC Celta were the great protagonist. All the teams of the skyblue youth categories presented themselves before the fans, who gave loud ovation to all the teams, including Celta B and Celta Integra. In addition, the Galician Football Federation presented Iago Aspas with the “Gold Medal for Sporting Merit”, which was presented by the president of the Federation, Rafael Louzán.
