RC Celta and its Foundation collaborate with Wanda Group in the creation of football schools in China

RC Celta

RC Celta continues to expand and strengthen its international expansion thanks to the great work of the Celta Foundation. Germán Arteta (director of the foundation), Edu Covelo (quarry director) and Diego Sarabia (grassroots football) have visited the Chinese city of Dalian in recent days, invited by the multinational conglomerate Wanda Group, to study the opening of two football schools.

This initiative is part of the Asian country’s plans to promote and spread the king of sports in China, a very ambitious project that has the support of Wanda, with whom RC Celta and the Celta Foundation already had a collaboration agreement that during the 2018/19 season has allowed sixteen young Chinese promising players to train in A Madroa.

The reputation of the Vigo club’s youth football methodology, together with the excellent youth academy and international expansion work that RC Celta and the Celta Foundation have carried out over the last decade, have made it possible for the Chinese government and Wanda Group to establish the Vigo club as a potential strategic partner in the football world.

Celta’s trip aroused the interest of the Chinese national media, which closely followed the development of the visit and the working meetings with Wanda. Over the coming months, meetings will continue with the aim of establishing a framework for cooperation that will enable the first two international sky-blue schools to be established in China in the immediate future.
