RC Celta can’t handle Athletic in San Mamés (3-1)

RC Celta fell this Sunday at San Mamés (3-1) and could not seal the permanency in First Division. The sky-blues saw the Athletic Club outperform them in the first half and made it almost impossible to win.
In the first minutes of the match Maxi Gómez was able to put the sky-blue team ahead but his goal was invalidated after being ruled offside. Two timely attacks at 15 the minute mark allowed Athletic Club to get a two-goal lead on the scoreboard, which was extended shortly before the break by Iñaki Williams.

In the second half, with the scoreboard totally against them, Fran Escribá’s team tried to gain meters to score a goal that would get them into the match. However, no team had clear chances and only Iago Aspas could score in the final stretch.
