RC Celta fell 3-1 in Getafe on Saturday in a match in which it managed to take the lead as soon as it started. The Madrid team took advantage of a controversial penalty, the ejection of Maxi Gomez and a goal invalidated to Hugo Mallo to turn the scoreboard around.
The match began in an optimal way for RC Celta, which two minutes after the start was ahead on the scoreboard with a header from Araujo after a free-kick masterfully executed by Brais Mendez. The rest of the first half was characterized by the evenness between both teams. Shortly before the break, the referee pointed out a dubious penalty in favor of Getafe that Mata converted and ejected Maxi Gomez for double yellow card. Hugo Mallo scored the second sky-blue goal in injury time, which was ruled out by a doubtful offside.
The second half began conditioned by what happened before the break and the Madrid team managed to get ahead on the scoreboard thanks to a goal from Jorge Molina. The sky-blue team tried by all means to draw the match but was unlucky in the chances it created and Mata scored the last local goal.
