Real Sociedad ends Celta’s Copa hopes (2-0)

RC Celta

RC Celta said goodbye to the Copa del Rey in San Sebastian. The team led by Miguel Cardoso fell to Real Sociedad (2-0) in Anoeta, which also benefited from the draw in the first leg in Balaídos on 1 November.

It was a first half marked by equality between the two teams. The sky blue team began imposing its style on the field of play and his were the first scoring chances. The Donostians took the lead with a great goal from Oyarzabal in the 10th minute and fifteen minutes later doubled their lead with a goal from Januzaj.

After half-time, RC Celta took possession of the ball in search of a goal to get them into the knockout. Miguel Cardoso soon moved the bench and brought in Jozabed, Maxi Gomez and Iago Aspas. The sky-blue team had several opportunities to reduce the gap on the scoreboard but could not materialize any of them.
